Today, Nintendo announced the release date for the Nintendo 3DS, an upgraded version of their DS handheld. Boasting a stereoscopic upper screen, which will give game worlds a whole new level op depth, a slider controlling how much 3D effect the user wants, and built-in motion sensor and gyro, this isn’t just a DS with a new paint job. Speaking of, it will be available at launch in Aqua Blue and Cosmo Black.
The new handheld drops March 27, and will sell for $249.99.

Does anyone really think this is a good idea? I see an increase in eyeglass prescriptions in the near future.

You’re probably right. I just got my glasses after seeing Avatar in 3D. The technology isn’t perfect.

Tried the glasses-less 3D tech at CES. Wasn’t all that impressed. It’s very easy to shift out of the viewing angle, and even when you’re spot on the 3D effect is negligible.
All hype and BS
