Starwars.com has announced that Darth Vaders and Stormtroopers will show up at Panasonic’s CES booth this Thursday for a “most impressive announcement”. The site doesn’t spill the beans regarding what it may be about, but the good money is on some kind of BluRay 3D exclusivity deal with Panasonic. Currently the only way (until late 2012) to get Avatar in 3D is to buy a Panasonic BluRay 3D player or 3D TV. It’s very possible that Lucasfilm worked out a similar deal for one or all of the Star Wars films as they are due out next Fall on BluRay.

I will lose my sh!t if they announce something stupid like that. It already greatly angers me that I have to wait nearly two more years to get Avatar in 3D.
