Last week, a website appeared that made it look like Activision was preparing to unveil Modern Warfare 3 at GDC this week and spoil all of EA’s Battlefield 3 fun. Well, it turns out the whole thing was a hoax and was just a publicity stunt by a group of guys working on a Call of Duty-inspired short film. It’s sure to earn the little short a few curious Youtube views, but getting the entire internet excited about a reveal of the next Call of Duty was a real slimy way to do it.
Still, EA will be revealing a full trailer for Battlefield 3 at GDC on Wednesday; so you may want to have a change of underwear ready.

Just because it was a teaser for a short film doesn’t make it a hoax. The website never mentioned MW3 at all.
