Not long after Simon Pegg Tweeted that the Star Trek II script is “AMAZEBALLS“, it looks like things are really starting to move with the movie. TrekMovie posts that the story pitch was so good that Paramount already wants to put down money for the pre-production offices, and that the first draft of the script will be turned in later this month. The current rumor is that they’ll start filming in August, but if it’s anything like the last time it’ll be extremely secretive.
Khan? Harry Mudd? Klingons? The Horta? Borgified Tribbles? No one knows what direction they’re taking the sequel, but whatever it is; it’s probably super awesome just as the original was. They could have all five of those things in the movie, and it’d still be vastly superior to most of the crap we had to suffer through in Enterprise. The movie is set for a July 29, 2012 release date.
