If you play racing games, then you know the big rivalry is between Sony’s Gran Turismo and Microsoft’s Forza Motorsport. While Sony finally released GT5 this past November, Microsoft has been brewing Forza 4 and it’s due out later this year. And if a scoop on Kotaku is true, it has one huge feature car buffs will die for.
Ignoring all the dumb Kinect motion control features, the real gem in that news is that Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson will be providing narration for the game. While GT5 featured the Top Gear Test Track in a pretty disappointing challenge mode; the popular UK car series has been all over Forza lately. When Microsoft released their “Platinum Hits” version of Forza 3 it included a selection of special cars called “The Stig’s garage”, a Top Gear Xbox theme, and a 90 minute “best of” special video.
They previously announced that Top Gear would be involved with Forza 4, but most people were worried it would just be the abysmal US version plastered all over it. With Clarkson’s involvement, the game should now be at the top of any racing game fan’s list this year.
