If you couldn’t believe that Battlefield 3 teaser trailer was real, hold on to your butts. EA has released the first full gameplay trailer expanding on what that teaser showed, and it’s nearly three minutes of gorgeous in-game footage of Battlefield 3. The most amazing thing? This footage is actually from a pre-alpha version of the game. Even so, it shows off how amazing the Frostbite 2 engine is going to be, and on the PC the original Frostbite (which was enhanced in Bad Company 2) looked amazing already. Also, there is really no way the next Call of Duty is going to be able to compete with this as the Quake III-derived engine they use simply cannot hold a candle to what DICE has achieved with Frostbite. That engine is absolutely beautiful. Considering how much time they’ve spent on this, I hope it’s polished when it’s launched. Cannot wait to play the beta. They launched the BF2 beta well in advance of the release. Make it happen EA. This looks amazing.
