Compared to last week, this week is pretty small. There are really only two new releases hitting stores this week; and one of them doesn’t actually arrive until Friday.
While the second part won’t hit theaters until July, you can grab part 1 of Deathly Hallows this Friday. The Blu-Ray includes Warner’s cool “Maximum Movie Mode” that was previously used on discs such as Watchmen and Sherlock Holmes, and it also promises “Additional Scenes”. While some people had a problem with how Part 1 ended, I think they split it at the perfect spot in order to really start Part 2 off with a bang.
The only other new release this week is one of the best Superhero movies ever. It nailed the Fantastic Four dynamic so well, and it’s ending was such a great Fantastic Four spoof, that the ending of the actual Fantastic Four movie had to be quickly re-written after The Incredibles released. The two-disc Blu-Ray looks to carry over most of the extras from the previous two-disc DVD, which makes it a strong upgrade.
