This weekend, the greatest Zelda game ever made is re-released for the Nintendo 3DS. Originally released in 1998, The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time eclipsed all past and future Zelda titles to become the definitive game in the long running series. I can vividly remember playing through the game over Thanksgiving in 1998. It was a couple days without sleep, but the game was so perfect you just couldn’t turn off the system.
Nintendo fans have known for a long time how Robin Williams named his daughter after Princess Zelda, and for this upcoming re-release Nintendo went to them for the commercial. In addition to the commercial that should be airing on TV by now, they also sat down for a short interview about The Legend of Zelda and what it was like growing up being named after a videogame character.
The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time hits stores in the US this Sunday.
