Recently LEGOLAND in California proudly opened a Star Wars “miniland” that recreated scenes from the saga in brick form. While that’s cool, the whole thing was built by a group of LEGO “master builders”. It’d be more awesome if it were a fan creation; as this LEGO version of Middle-Earth is.

LEGO convention Brickworld 2011 recently took place and the winner for “Best Group Layout” was this full recreation of Middle-Earth that recreated the journey of the Fellowship all the way from the Shire to Mount Doom. Minis Tirith and Barad-dûr are particularly impressive works of LEGO building.
