Warner Talks Green Lantern Sequel, The Flash, and a Man of Steel Delay

The LA Times has an article today with quotes from Warner Brothers film group President Jeff Robinov talking about the Green Lantern sequel, as well as a mention of The Flash and a delay for The Man of Steel.

In regards to Green Lantern, it looks like they are sticking to their guns about doing a sequel; although it will likely be with a different director:

“We had a decent opening so we learned there is an audience. To go forward we need to make it a little edgier and darker with more emphasis on action…. And we have to find a way to balance the time the movie spends in space versus on Earth.”

But what about The Flash, according to the article:

Robinov said the studio has “a solid script” for the Scarlet Speedster.

A GL sequel or The Flash movie most likely won’t arrive until 2014 as it looks like Zack Snyder’s The Man of Steel is now scheduled for release in June of 2013. It was originally scheduled for Christmas 2012.

FTA: “We had a decent opening so we learned there is an audience.”

There’s definitely an audience. Just look at how many of these types of movies are in the works.

I kinda wish more filmmakers would try putting their hard work into something that isn’t an adaptation or otherwise part of a franchise.

Oh well, Flash is cool too.
