Well, now we know who the villain of Prometheus is, and in the process we also found out who the hero is. Total Film has an interview up with Charlize Theron about the movie, and in it she drops the beans as to who fills the evil Company Man role and who fills the Ripley role in the movie that Fox still swears isn’t a prequel to Alien; despite having the Space Jockeys in it.

“No, I actually don’t play the heroine in it; that’s Noomi Rapace. I play somewhat of a villain in it. She’s not believer, she’s not a scientist, she is the red tape that everyone has to go through. She’s working with the company that’s sponsoring this whole thing and you can feel she definitely has an agenda, which we pick up in the third act. She’s more quiet thunder.”

Since the movie is set some time before the first Alien, we really don’t know who survives. Theron would survive to go on to tell the Company where the Space Jockey ship crash lands, who then naturally sends the Nostromo after it. Or Rapace could survive and tell them without knowing what they intend to do in the future.

We can’t wait until June.
