Poltergeist
History tells us Tobe Hooper filmed Poltergeist, but the truth is rather different. Spielberg originally wanted to direct the movie, but due to his commitment to Universal to make E.T., he was prevented from doing Poltergeist. Still, he was on the set for the vast majority of the filming, and fans of Spielberg can definitely see that a large portion of the movie looks a lot like something he filmed.
Beastmaster
How’s this to make you feel old? The movie that pretty much made TBS what it is today turns 30 this year. There was a time when you couldn’t turn on TBS (or HBO) for that matter without seeing Marc Singer as The Beastmaster. If you haven’t seen this, you probably were born in the 90s.
First Blood
Stallone had two big movies in 1982 with Rocky III and First Blood. The latter made this list thanks to it introducing John Rambo to us. As a result of this movie, we eventually got this and this. Rocky III may have had Mr. T and Hulk Hogan in it, but First Blood gave us a legend and helped kick off the legendary 80s action movie.
