2012 is the 50th Anniversary of James Bond

This week is the annual CES show in Las Vegas, and since tech types are also into Bond with his love of gadgets; MGM used the show to kick off the 50th Anniversary of the James Bond film franchise for this year. Dr. No was released in 1962, and this fall you’ll be able to get that classic as well as all of the other Bond movies in one high-definition box set. Around the same time as that release, the 23rd Bond movie Skyfall will hit theaters.

To show off both of these 007.com was launched complete with a countdown clock that is ticking down the seconds until James Bond returns in Skyfall, as well as a trailer for the massive “Bond 50″ Blu-Ray collection. No release date for the collection has been announced, aside from Fall, but it’s already available for pre-order on Amazon for $200. In addition to all 22 Bond movies in HD, it promises over 130 hours of special features. Here’s one of the trailers for it:
