If you play The Old Republic, you probably know that going full Light Side or full Dark Side will reward you with some cool gear. Each choice results in a different appearance of gear, naturally, and each one even gets its own speeders. In Star Wars Galaxies, playing a neutral player was definitely possible and you never felt gimped. That isn’t the case in TOR currently as you basically have to choose a side to benefit the most. That will be changing as BioWare has revealed to PC Gamer that they’re working to add neutral gear for players who don’t chose the Light or Dark side:
“We have a system for people who want to stay more in the middle. But that’s something coming up in a later release,” he continued.
“It’ll let you play a “Gray Jedi”. Basically you don’t need to go to the extreme to get rewarded. You can have a different playstyle. We like to call it the “Gray Jedi” playstyle. That’s coming in a future piece of content.”
There’s no word as to when this promised feature will show up, so we’ll just have to add it to the list that includes Dual Spec, a real LFG system, and real Space Combat.
