If you’re a Spielberg fanboy, you got two great Christmas presents last year and one of them is officially receiving a sequel. Speaking with Total Film, Spielberg confirms that there will be a second Adventures of Tintin and as expected Peter Jackson will be directing it:
“Peter [Jackson]’s doing it. I wanted to do it, but Peter has to because we made a deal. I said, ‘I’ll direct the first one, you direct the second one.’
“And Peter, of course, is going to do it right after he finishes photography on The Hobbit. He’ll go right into the 31, 21 days of performance capture.
“We’re not telling the world what books we’re basing the second movie on yet.”
The original idea that was tossed about was that Spielberg would direct the first, Jackson the second, and then the two would co-direct the third. Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg co-directing a movie is probably something our fanboy minds couldn’t handle, but lets hope it comes to pass!
If you haven’t seen Tintin yet, which is basically the best Indiana Jones movie since Last Crusade, it hits Blu-Ray next month.
