Fox’s denial that Prometheus is an Alien prequel is starting to become insulting. Does Tom Rothman seriously think geeks are that stupid to not recognize clear connections between Alien and Prometheus? If I didn’t want Prometheus to be successful, I’d almost hope for backlash against this denial.

The latest picture from the movie that Fox released (above) is even more confirmation that the movie is a direct prequel to Alien. Take away the holographic display in that room, and it’s the exact same room where the crew of the Nostromo discovers the dead Space Jockey in his chair. In the trailer for the movie, it also shows that room and the familiar chair is rising out of the floor.

I know Fox is wary of prequels after the Star Wars backlash, but denying the obvious Alien connections in Prometheus has just become insane.
