While it obviously won’t be Norman Osborne under the armor, the Iron Patriot is going to show up in Iron Man 3. With the movie beginning production this week, it was expected that we’d see pics of the villains leak out…but not this soon! FameFlynet.com was near enough to the set to capture James Badge Dale (who is playing Eric Savin) taking off his big black blanket and revealing the Iron Patriot armor.

Making Savin Iron Patriot, while a departure from the comics, does sort of make sense. As he’s a soldier who loses both legs, one could imagine Tony Stark granting him a special red, white, and blue suit of armor. Then he could turn bad and become the Coldblooded from the comics and team up with Firepower to fight Iron Man.

Also, Latino Review is certain that The Mandarin is the villain, but is more of a quiet background villain than the main focus of the movie. He’s the one pulling the strings, not the trigger.
