Comic legend Neil Adams will be returning to X-Men comics later this year with a five-issue mini-series focusing on Wolverine and Magneto. Adams recently finished the amazingly psycho nuts Batman Odyssey, which is perhaps one of the most awesome and completely insane Batman story you’ll ever read…so we’re definitely looking forward to what he’s going to do with Logan and Magneto.

Marvel announced the project as their “Next Big Thing” announcement live on their website, and in the web chat this is how Neil Adams describes the series:

“Of all the mutants on Earth, Professor X could easily pass as a human. Why would he want to get involved in this? Maybe all this was going on before Professor X was Professor X…when Professor X was a teenager. Maybe mutant kids were getting abused by the military, by the government. Somebody would have been looking out for them, but maybe that person came to Charles Xavier, realizing he couldn’t protect these kids. That was my pitch.”

It definitely sounds like a new take on the “First Class” type of X-Men story, and if Batman Odyssey is anything to go by; it’s going to be awesome.
