Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, and Captain America all made up the Marvel Cinematic Universe that led into The Avengers, but how the movies lined up chronologically has been a bit confusing…until now. Comic Book Movie was sent this scan of the official timeline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which was printed in the Art of The Avengers book that’s now on store shelves.
The end of Iron Man 2 established that the movie took place roughly at the same time as The Incredible Hulk, but what’s interesting is that the timeline reveals that Iron Man 2, The Incredible Hulk, and Thor all actually took place over the same week. The timeline calls it “Fury’s Big Week” and breaks down the events of the three movies over the course of that week, ending with the discovery of Captain America frozen in the ice.
