There’s a Robocop remake coming next year, and like the Highlander remake, it’s completely unneeded. Like Highlander, the original Robocop is a perfect movie and doesn’t need to be remade or updated. Its biting social commentary is just as relevant today as it was in the 80s, and they should be doing a deluxe restoration on the movie followed by a good Blu-Ray re-release instead of remaking it.

But as Hollywood ran out of original ideas long ago, and won’t fund original ideas worth a damn, we’re getting a useless remake of Robocop and now the viral marketing has begun with this OmniCorp video. It’s a short clip showing off some of the products OmniCorp produced, including ED-209 who thankfully looks pretty similar to the original. The final tease in the video is RC-2000, which is obviously Robocop.
