Everyone is talking about Felix Baumgartner’s test at his sub-orbital skydive this week, prior to attempting the real 23 mile jump soon. Well, Felix isn’t the first person to try this, as Captain Kirk did it in a scene deleted from Star Trek: Generations.

The scene was originally meant to take place before Kirk, Scotty, and Pavel made their way to the Enterprise B commissioning, and would feature Kirk skydiving down to Earth from orbit. It’d be cool if Baumgartner was a Trekkie and got the idea from Captain Kirk.
