Back when Jason and I first started on SWG just prior to launch, Rich Vogel was one of the leads on the game at SOE Austin. His tenure didn’t last too long there, and it looks like history has repeated itself with The Old Republic. Vogel is no longer with BioWare, leaving his position of executive producer on the game.

This comes along with rumors of additional layoffs from BioWare Austin. EA and BioWare didn’t exactly confirm any of the rumors, but rather just gave a carefully worded press response saying that they’re committed to providing new content for the game. But when you have people who worked at BioWare Austin telling people they lost their job yesterday along with multiple others, it means layoffs happened.

There’s no word yet on who will take over for Vogel or how it’ll affect the game.
