Thomas Jane & Ron Perlman Make the Best Punisher Movie Ever

There have been three Punisher movies. There’s the Dolf version from the 90s, the horribly misguided Thomas Jane version (Florida, REALLY?), and the hilariously awesome Punisher: War Zone that’s so crazy you have to have a big glass of whiskey with it. For last weekend’s San Diego Comic Con, Thomas Jane released a ten minute short movie that’s meant to be a loving tribute to Frank Castle, and it’s by far the best Punisher movie ever made.

Marvel has said that they’ve recovered the movie rights to The Punisher, which means he could be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I never had a problem with Jane as Frank Castle, he fits the shoes well. The only problem with his movie was setting it in Florida, as Frank needs to hunt the streets of New York. If Marvel Studios decides to do a new Punisher movie, they should look at this short and re-consider Thomas Jane for the role.

Be warned, this thing is very Hard R. Lots of gore and bad language, and Frank wouldn’t have it any other way.
