Make all the Phantoms jokes you want, but Ben Affleck has become one of Warner Brother’s most trusted directors after he did The Town for them (and after his Gone Baby Gone won awards). He has Argo coming out in October for Warner, which is based on the fake science fiction movie (which Jack Kirby worked on) that was used to rescue six diplomats from Iran in 1979. And now the word is that Warner Brothers will be asking him to direct the upcoming Justice League movie.

Variety says that Warner will be meeting with Affleck in the next couple days and that he’s the only director to have seen the script. They also point out that he wants to star in the movies he directs, so that means that if he ends up doing it; he may be one of the JLA. That would mean that Daredevil could be playing Superman, Batman, The Flash, Aquaman, or Green Lantern.

Personally, I think he’d make a great Barry Allen.
