We know that Joss Whedon is going to be writing and directing The Avengers 2, and it’s pretty obvious that the team will be saving Earth from Thanos; but when will it be released. Well, it’s not too hard to guess that it’ll be May 2015 as May has officially become the “Marvel” month when Marvel releases one of their annual summer movies. Now, MTV is saying that May 1st has been set for the release date for the Avengers sequel:

Why May 1, 2015? First off, there is Marvel’s jam-packed sequel slate to consider. Several of our favorite Avengers won’t be available to assemble until after they finish filming their own standalone films and Marvel already has releases planned for those titles through 2014.

Again, it really doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that Marvel would release the Avengers sequel in the same annual weekend that they release all their movies in.
