The Mars Science Laboratory, or the Curiosity rover, is getting very close to its Martian destination. Yesterday the rover activated its entry, descent, and landing timeline software and is now under what is basically an autopilot guiding it to landing on Mars. JPL is keeping an eye on the lander to make sure everything goes well, but it’s just about reached its destination.

Curiosity will land on Mars around 10:30pm PDT on Sunday night, with live coverage of the event kicking off on NASA’s site and NASA TV at 8:00pm. You better believe that’s what we’ll be watching this Sunday night!
