Next month’s Blu-Ray release of The Avengers will include a bunch of deleted scenes, which will likely add up to the twenty or so minutes of footage that Whedon cut out of the original movie. While it may have been awesome to see the rumored director’s cut released; at least we get to see the scenes on the disc. And if the others are like this first one, some may have best been left on the cutting room floor.
The first deleted scene that Disney released from the disc has Bruce Banner carrying on a little longer conversation with Harry Dean Stanton after he’s discovered in the rubble. While more Harry Dean Stanton is welcome, the scene really did slow things down a bit too much compared to what was in the theatrical cut, so it’s probably best it was cut out.
Unfortunately, it’s not possible to embed the video and Disney’s legal ninjas are pouncing on anyone who uploads it to Youtube, so you’ll need to head on over to Entertainment Weekely to check it out.
