Lionsgate Sees Ender’s Game as a Franchise (Sequels!)

If you’re familiar with Ender’s Game, you’ll know it’s the first book in a long series. Gavin Hood, director of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, has filmed the movie adaptation for a November 2013 release, and Lionsgate is definitely looking at the series as a potential new franchise; possibly going for the teenage boy crowd as they have the girls wrapped up with Hunger Games:

“There’s a lot of books,” Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer said. “We’re excited about the franchise.”

Although the Ender’s series is long, only the first four books (the Ender Quintet) really deal with Ender. There are other books that fill in the story set during the time at the Battle School and Ender’s time in exile traveling in space, but it’s likely they’ll just adapt the main Quintet stories and not bother trying to adapt the Bean books.
