Right before all four Indy movies hit Blu-Ray on September 18th, Paramount is going to be re-releasing Raiders of the Lost Ark for one week on IMAX screens nationwide. Right now this is likely only going to be an IMAX release, as the IMAX screens have a free week prior to the new Resident Evil opening on the 15th, so if you don’t have an IMAX nearby you may be out of luck for seeing the movie on the big screen.

Paramount hasn’t yet officially confirmed the release, but The Hollywood Reporter has been able to confirm that some theaters are showing tickets available through Fandango. Once Paramount comes out with an official announcement, it’s likely most other IMAX theaters will follow and you’ll be able to pick up tickets in advanced.

Most IMAX tickets are more expensive, anywhere from $16 to $20+ depending on where you live, but that’s a small price to pay if you get to see Raiders on the big screen. I was fortunate enough to see the restored print last September, and there is absolutely no way I’m going to miss the IMAX release.
