At Comic Con last month, The Hobbit portion of the Warner panel kicked off by showing the same trailer we’ve been watching over and over for months now. Only there were a couple of slight differences in it. For one, the first shot of young Bilbo is very different (and much more fitting for the character), and there’s a new shot of Bilbo hiding in a tree in Mirkwood followed by a shot of Gandalf and the Dwarves running through a forest.
They’re three extremely short additions to the trailer, but people in the audience at Comic Con definitely noticed the changes. C’mon, we geeks watch these trailers frame-by-frame multiple times and have them memorized. Warner didn’t mention anything about it being a “new” trailer, but it was different enough that people wondered when it would be released online. Now it has, and you can view it below.
