Were you a fan of the Smurfs growing up in the 80s? I remember turning on them every Saturday morning, and then I could remember those memories being flushed down the toilet by the trailer for the CG/Live Action Smurfs movie that came out not too long ago. Good thing I never saw it. Well now Sony plans to do the same thing with ALF, who will join the Chipmunks, the Easter Bunny, and The Smurfs in having a by-the-numbers fart humor kids movie made the combines a CG character (ALF) with real humans.

The Hollywood Reporter is saying that the movie will be produced by the same producer from The Smurfs, but ALF’s creators will be involved as producers as well. Paul Fusco will likely do the voice of ALF as well, because it would be a crime to have anyone else do it.

Hopefully they don’t make it politically correct to appease PETA and we get ALF eating a cat sandwich on the big screen.
