The Old Republic Has Less Than a Million Subs

Following yesterday’s news that Star Wars: The Old Republic will be going Free to Play sometime around November, information has come out that the game currently has less than a million paying subscribers. The exact number wasn’t released, but it’s less than a million but more than half a million. The Old Republic came out the gate with 1.7 million subs, that number dropped down to 1.3 million pretty quickly, and now it’s well below that.

Even after the Free to Play transition, there will be a $14.99 subscription offer. Free players will be limited to how many Flashpoints, Warzones, and Space Missions they could do each week and they will be completely blocked from Operations. Other options like races in character creation and Galactic Trade access will be severely limited for those who don’t subscribe.

The game will drop down to $14.99 this month and will go free to play around November.
