Back when Warner animation originally began talking about adapting The Dark Knight Returns at Comic Con 2011, one thing that was tossed around was making it R-rated. Obviously an R-rated, animated, Batman movie isn’t the sort of PR nightmare Warner wanted to deal with; so the two-part animated Dark Knight Returns will be arriving in stores with a PG-13 rating, and you’ll be able to pick it up along with Avengers on September 25th.
The Blu-Ray will include a stupid UltraViolet digital copy, the expected featurettes, and a digital Dark Knight Returns digital comic. It’s not known if the comic will be a redeemable code for a digital comic, a comic on the disc, or a stupid motion comic. Hopefully it’s a redeemable code.
