Despite what you may have heard elsewhere, Warner’s killing of Ron Howard’s Dark Tower trilogy/miniseries isn’t the final nail in the coffin for the troubled adaptation. Apparently Warner didn’t like the script from the writer of Batman & Robin, so they didn’t feel comfortable committing a fortune to film a movie written by the guy who helped turn Batman gay. So Warner killed the series, which was still going to be three movies and two TV mini-series, but now Deadline is reporting that Media Rights Capital is interested in doing it.
After the big money at Universal and Warner bailed on it, no one knows what this will mean for the series. Hopefully it does get made, but hopefully it doesn’t end up looking like a made for SyFy TV movie.
