Unlike the week-long Raiders IMAX release, Spielberg’s other classic that comes out on Blu-Ray this year is only going to be seen in theaters for one day. Universal and TCM will be releasing (through Fathom events) the newly restored version of E.T. that’ll appear on the Blu-Ray on the big screen on October 3rd. The main showing will be at 7:00pm that night, although there will be a matinee showing at 2:00pm for kids to experience the classic for the first time.

As this will be the restored print used for the Blu-Ray, it’ll be the original 1982 version complete with guns, the line about looking like a terrorist, and penis breath. Also, if the restoration is as impressive as the job Universal did, it’s likely the best E.T. has ever looked.
