Fox has announced that Mark Millar will oversee their Marvel movies (X-Men and Fantastic Four) as a creative consultant, and as part of it made a crazy statement. Just as the Marvel Studios movies exist in a shared universe, it seems like Fox wants their two Marvel franchises to exist in a small shared universe of their own:
“We are excited to be working with Mark. In addition to his groundbreaking Marvel work, he is simply one of the most original voices in comics today and will be an invaluable resource to us and to our filmmakers as we look for fresh opportunities to innovate within our shared Marvel universe.”
Excuse me? But isn’t this completely stupid? There’s only two franchises. What are they going to do? Have the X-Men help fight the new Galactus Cloud?
Bad Fox. Develop a little bit of dignity and give all your Marvel movies back to Marvel so they can be best served creatively.
