I nearly lost my voice at this past summer’s San Diego Comic Con. The reason? The pants-exploding teaser for Godzilla. As awesome as Pacific Rim was, seeing the original Kaiju we all love realized on the big screen was geekgasm=inducing. When that roar was heard, I and the rest of hall H went ape-shit. And they showed the thing twice!

At the Con they did confirm that it’ll be out in 2014, but now we have an exact date. The King of the Monsters will return to the big screen on May 14th, 2014. That puts it out right after Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which means May will be a killer month that summer.
