Jaw-Dropping Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes Trailer

Last week when Konami held it’s Metal Gear 25th Anniversary event in Japan, Kojima wowed attendees with the first trailer for Ground Zeroes. The game is running on the new Fox Engine and will be a more open MGS game compared to the previous ones in the series. Now to show everyone was impressed people so much, Konami has released the ten-minute trailer officially.

By the end of the trailer, it’s obvious that the game is set sometime after Peace Walker, which was 1974. As Big Boss/Snake looks older with gray hair; it’s very possible this one is set in the 80s. It could even be Metal Gear 0 and Kojima isn’t wanting to call it that, just like Peace Walker was original Metal Gear Solid 5 (logos for that even exist) and he changed the name at the end.

At the event, Kojima said the demo was running off a PC. However he said the “PS3″ version will look the same. An issue with that is that the trailer is showing of some very DX11 effects that neither current HD console is able to produce. So there are a couple options. It could be headed to the PS3 with downgraded graphics, with a PC version to follow. Or they could release a downgraded PS3 version and then the definitive version would be released on a next-gen platform.
