Here’s a rumor to take with a big grain of salt, but I definitely hope is true. Cosmic Book News is claiming that the new 2016 Batman movie will be based on the Arkham Aslyum game series. As the game is closer to the actual comics than any Batman movie ever has been, this would be very awesome if it were to come true. The site also says it won’t be re-telling the origin:

We’re told there are some “mumblings” around Warner Bros. that they may want the Batman reboot based on the popular Batman: Arkham Asylum video game, and that this would be set in the same world as the Justice League movie.

If it comes true, I’d be happy. However, part of me can’t help but see DC’s movies just trying to play catch-up with Marvel who is on a pretty strong roll right now with Phase 2 starting to sound even more amazing than Phase 1.
