With the San Diego Comic Con out of the way, it’s now the East Coast’s turn to host the other huge yearly comic con. The New York Comic Con is just about a month away, and to promote it a new poster was commissioned to show off the character redesigns for Marvel’s upcoming “New 52-style” relaunch called “Marvel Now!”.
The poster shows the new Iron Man armor from Iron Man, the new look of Thor from Thor: God of Thunder, the very movie-like Cap look for Captain America and Uncanny Avengers, and the heavily armored Hulk from The Indestructible Hulk. You may be wondering what the Hulk needs with armor, but Banner does and as he’s now a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent in the book with his own team; the agency wants him protected even though he can turn into an indestructible green rage monster.
Marvel’s relaunch will actually begin right around the same time as the New York Comic Con as Uncanny Avengers #1 will be first out the gate by then. More will follow with the majority of Marvel’s big books being relaunched with issue #1s by the end of the year. A second phase, including a Brian Michael Bendis-penned Guardians of the Galaxy relaunch, is rumored for after the first of the year.
