In a story from New Zealand, Smith is kicking off a campaign to get Jackson to direct an episode if the BBC will let them to to New Zealand to film it. They asked Peter Jackson about doing an episode, and he said he would!

A Peter Jackson-directed episode of the show would easily be one of the most-watched of the entire series’ history, so it’ll be well worth the BBC to let an episode (or two) film in New Zealand. They did recently film in the US, so it’s not like they’re locked to Great Britain…
