With Diablo III released and the next WoW expansion out in just a couple of weeks, the other big Blizzard game gets its time in the spotlight. Blizzard has officially begun the beta test for the first (of two) StarCraft II expansions, Heart of the Swarm.

Initially it looks like most of the people admitted to beta are involved in e-sports or are very hardcore players, as part of the early admission qualifications takes StarCraft II activity in mind. Those who have been admitted to the beta are only able to play multiplayer matches with a selection of the new units. More of the units and new features of the expansion will be added at a later date in the beta.
