One of my favorite scifi book series is Kim Stanley Robinson’s Mars trilogy. The three main books (Red Mars, Green Mars, Blue Mars) detail the terraforming of the planet over generations. He followed those up with a book of stories titled The Martians that continue the threads from the families involved in the first three books. Now NASA, National Geographic, and the Discovery Channel have put out an infographic showing how long and how expensive it would be to turn Mars into a blue planet.
