TheForce.net is one of the longest running Star Wars fansites on the entire Internet. In the late 90s, they launched their Jedi Council Forums, which immediately became one of the premier hangouts for Star Wars fans online. A couple years later, TFN joined up with IGN and began using their board software, and continued to until earlier this year.

The problem for them was that IGN first dropped their affiliate program and then decided that they wouldn’t be supporting the “Snowboards” forum software anymore. That gave TFN a ticking time bomb until armageddon when their forums would go away, so they had to come up with an alternative.

Not long ago, the Jedi Council Forums transitioned to a temporary solution while they could find new forum software to move all of the existing board users to. After a long summer without forums, Star Wars fans can return to the Jedi Council as the new forums are now live.
