This is a public service announcement for all fanboys: Brannon Braga is polluting Star Trek once again, only this time it’s on the pages of a comic book. Next week, the first issue of a four-issue mini-series dealing with the Borg is released and Braga is the person behind it. If you’ve ever watched Star Trek, you’ll know it’ll be a steaming pile of shit. If you want to know what it’s about, Braga explained to CBR:

“The book begins 500 years in the future, when the Borg have assimilated everything and everyone. And there’s nothing left in the galaxy,” Braga explained to CBR News. “And Locutus, who is now kind of the king of the Borg, has an awakening. Some part of [Capt. Jean-Luc] Picard lives on inside him. The Borg are going through a bit of an existential crisis, in that once you’ve assimilated everything, they still haven’t achieved that perfection that they seek. And Locutus decides to destroy the Borg, but to do that he’s going to have to utilize himself, 500 years ago, when this whole Borg final assimilation started. And that takes us to so-called present day, where [Captain] Picard is going about his business. So it’s an adventure that takes place in two different time periods.”

So after completely ruining the Borg in Voyager, he’s brining his own brand of shit to IDW’s otherwise excellent comic series. Only instead of being spoon fed the excrement on free network television as he did in his original Trek days, you have to fork out $3.99 for his written reaming of the franchise.

As I don’t feel like having a Braga-written comic stinking up any of my comic boxes; I’ll take one for the team and check it out on comiXology next week. As least I can delete the file off my tablet after I’m done vomiting!
