Zack Snyder’s Watchmen actually as three different cuts. There’s the theatrical cut that was “OK”, the much improved Director’s Cut that has that awesome death of Hollis, and then there’s an “Ultimate Cut” that splices in the animated Tales of the Black Freighter as well as more footage of the newstand guy and kid reading the comic. The first two versions are pretty readily available, but the Ultimate Cut was only released via a very limited edition DVD and Blu-Ray release. Once those copies were gone, the only way to get one is to buy a used one off an eBay scalper.

Well, those scalpers will be crying bitter tears in November as Warner will be re-releasing the Ultimate Cut in a new Blu-Ray boxed set. On a three-disc set you’ll get the Ultimate Cut, two hours of special features, and the Watchmen Motion Comic. You’ll also get the theatrical cut on DVD. Or, if you’re like me and don’t care much for motion comics, you can read the original Watchmen with copy of the hardcover graphic novel.
