I was hoping to see Edgar Wright’s Ant Man as part of Phase 2 of Marvel’s movies, but that won’t be happening. Instead, Ant Man will kick off Phase 3 when it’s released on November 6th, 2015. Following The Avengers 2 in May 2015, Hank Pym will have Phase 3 on his shoulders just like Tony Stark kicked off Phase 1 back in 2008.

That doesn’t mean we won’t see him before the Ant Man movie, as it’s very possible he can show up in The Avengers 2. If they do Wasp in that sequel, then Hank Pym would be a natural addition alongside her. Bring both in with the rest of the team, and then allow them to spin off in their own adventure in the Ant Man movie a few months later. One people see how cool his powers are in The Avengers 2, they’ll line up to see him in his own movie.
