EVE Online Player Gets Ganked, Loses $6,000

If you wanted to transport $6,000 worth of in-game items in a game with free-for-all PVP, you’d load them up in an underpowered little ship right? As long as the ship is fast, you should be OK…shouldn’t you? An EVE Online player learned the lesson the hard way when they put a whole bunch of valuable blueprints into a small ship and decided to fly through nullsec space.

The easy target ended up costing the player 213,083,571,404.00 ISK. The ship was only worth 272,000.00 ISK, so it was the blueprints that cost the guy nearly $6,000. As you can buy in-game time with ISK, it has a real-world value. The best part about this? CCP announced the kill on Facebook.

I think my favorite comment on the death comes from a player on EVE-Kill:

If all the village idiots… left their villages… and formed their own village… OF IDIOTS… in that village… YOU would be the village idiot.
