I know we’re all disappointed that Fox and Sony refuse to let Marvel have their characters back, but there may be a silver lining. Fox recently hired Mark Millar to oversee their Marvel movies, and at the time said that it would be their own shared universe. Now, Millar said in an interview with SFX that he hopes to have that universe work with the MCU:

“Fox have said that they want to build a cohesive universe and I’d personally like this to work in complement to the Marvel one. It would be cool if these universes didn’t contradict each other so if you went to see Spidey, The Avengers, the X-Men, etc, as a viewer you would have no idea that all three are coming from different studios. I’d love to make it look like they’re all just happening in one place.

Fox should really listen to him. While it may be a while before there could be a real crossover between the Fox and Marvel movies, having them all existing in the same universe and even possibly referencing each other would be pretty awesome.
