The Ghostbusters 3 news seems to be getting worse. After Ivan Reitman lost is mind and said that Ghostbusters could be “remade”, that’s exactly what he’s doing. Deadline has reported that Reitman is all booked up for Summer 2013 with a “reboot” of Ghostbusters:
Paramount chose not to make it in the small window that Reitman has before he is expected to finally get the long-gestating Ghostbusters reboot in front of the cameras next summer for Sony Pictures (sans Bill Murray).
Now, the story says “reboot”. So it’s entirely possible it will be a real “Ghostbusters 3″ with some of the original Ghostbusters handing the torch over to a new generation. That has always been the plan, even back in the 90s when they planned to have some SNL cast members, including the late great Chris Farley, take over as new Ghostbusters. So if that’s the case, it could turn out OK. If it’s a remake: FRACK YOU!
